Bob started performing when he was 14 years old, and has been entertaining professionally for more than 60 years. In high school he found several like-minded musicians and started a garage band, playing music wherever and whenever they could. Bob went on to play with The Wonders, the Rumbles, the Johnny Ray Gomez Revue, Mecca, and currently plays with the Grease Band and The Brits. Bob also does a solo act for the 'senior' circuit. Whether playing rock and roll or entertaining seniors, he is well received. He is known for his vocal range and lively personality, and his versatility singing and playing multiple musical instruments.
As a long time member of The Rumbles, Bob has been inducted into the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame, the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association Hall of Fame and the South Dakota Rock and Rollers Hall of Fame. He was also recently inducted again into the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame as a member of the Grease Band. And he's been presented with an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the College of Music at the University of Okoboji.
Bob's single act features a variety of hits from artists like Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and the Platters as well as country and western music and select songs from the 1920’s and 1930’s. He performs several of his songs in medleys, which enables him to pack more songs into each performance. He entertains at senior facilities, corporate events, birthday and anniversary parties, casinos, veterans organizations, and various group events.
Bob has performed thousands of shows in hundreds of locations. He has recorded with Mercury, London and Capital Records. His groups have opened for national acts including the Beach Boys, the Coasters, the Drifters, Marilyn May, the Harmonicats, the Four Seasons, the Mamas and Papas, Paul Revere and the Raiders, the Platters, Three Dog Night, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, and even Sally Rand, the fan dancer. He has performed all over the United States in ballrooms, hotels, lounges, National Guard armories, state and county fairs, gubernatorial inaugural balls, churches, festivals, and street dances.
